What makes me strong is twofold: treating every interaction as a learning experience and trusting my inner voice.

Early in my life someone gave me the advice to surround myself with those who make me better. That has become a life mantra. I have been so fortunate to learn from incredible mentors, teachers, grandparents, and friends. I have experienced the profound wisdom, compassion, and determination of others and applied these lessons to my own life. I have learned to approach every conversation as a learning opportunity and deeply respect others. I am so grateful to the role models who paved the way and
demonstrated what true strength looks like.

Each nugget of wisdom and lesson I have learned from those I admire have contributed to my strong inner compass. I think the core of my strength comes from my optimism, vision, and trusting my instincts. I speak for most of us when I say life is full of noise, critics, and naysayers who don’t always get it. I think living intentionally and staying off the conveyor belt of society is really jarring for people who have spent their entire lives coming up with reasons to stay on it. Being a creative entrepreneur, a storyteller, a traveller – these are all things that have been met with criticism from others. But over the years, I have
learned how to trust myself, my work ethic, and my ability to be successful at anything I wholeheartedly pursue. The times when I ignore noise, comparison, and judgement are when I see my visions come to life, dreams manifested, and seemingly impossible tasks accomplished.

Authentic self-confidence is something I have to practice every day. It is a mindset, a set of habits, and a commitment to myself. Sometimes it does not come naturally, there are setbacks, and progress comes slow.

But one thing I know for sure – every day I get stronger.
