My strength comes from knowing I can not and do not have to walk this journey alone.

My strength comes from pain. Pain of overcoming multiple years of sexual abuse and the necessity to not view myself as a victim but as a survivor.

My strength comes from the desperation it took to turn to recovery after admitting I am an alcoholic and drug addict.

My strength comes from the women who have held me up during these trying times and the love and care they have shown me.

My strength comes from the willingness I have to have to admit when I am wrong and need help.

And

My strength comes from knowing I can not and do not have to walk this journey alone.

The What I Be project was a liberating, overwhelming and loving experience. I was finally able share my truth with the world.
